Introducing the Moody Gardens® Golf Course, formerly the Galveston Municipal Golf Course, featuring a $16 million comprehensive renovation by the renowned golf course architects of Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design. Revealed in June 2008, the Moody Gardens® Golf Course still features the best historical aspects of the original layout, while significantly improving certain holes and overall course flow.
The renovation includes new turf grass, green complexes, elevations, irrigation, drainage, cart paths, greens and a full clubhouse renovation.
A First-class Public Golf Course
A Seaside Course with a Tropical Feel
To keep playing surfaces in top condition, a new water treatment plant and irrigation system were included in the renovation project. This improvement in water quality optimizes playing surfaces and also provides water for landscaped areas around the clubhouse and on the golf course. The course highlights its unique seaside tropical feel with 18 holes meandering through upland and lowland native areas, natural wetlands habitat of beautiful Sydnor Bayou and over 500 palm trees.
